Jim Masters is one of Dance Music’s most influential DJ and Promoters of the last 25 years; his club nights and residencies at BASE (with Carl Cox) ,Velvet and The End (Mr. C) have ensured Jim is at the cutting edge of the dance scene.
It was no surprise when he joined the newly formed Ministry of Sound. In his role as Director of Club and Record label he helped to shape it into the worldwide brand it is today. It was at this time he started ‘Open all Hours’ and the ‘Drum Club’ (JD Twitch played there back in 1993!) providing those in the know some unforgettable nights. Along with residencies in North America, Portugal and Spain he also teamed up with Electro Techno pioneer DJ/Promoter Billy Nasty and hosted ‘Open to Torture’ a fusion of Techno and Electro hosted at ‘The End’.
Jim’s following across the world has made him one of the most connected and sort after DJs on the scene. He is not shy when it comes to crowds once playing to 200,000 + in Rio, and a particularly memorable gig in Manila was screened live to 6 million! His ability to control a crowd is based on a combination of turntable skills combined with an absolute knowledge of music and a passion for a party.
Jim decided to play Fordham Festival not for the cash (Cheers Jim for your generosity) not to see how phat his tunes will sound on System 54’s DVA PA (which will be awesome), but primarily to be involved in something special!
