This product is designed to allow developers with little or no  .NET experience to create and deploy web services within minutes.

 

Please read the Getting Started Guide to ensure that your use of the Designer for Web Services is as problem free as possible and you have all the necessary components installed and configured correctly.

Some knowledge of SQL is advisable although there are differences to standard SQL so please refer to the SQL string definition section before attempting to enter SQL manually, there is a wizard to help you with Simple queries, where the SQL string will be entered for you.

 

 

Prerequisites.

 

Please note the following software must be installed to use this product.

 

You will need to check that you have IIS installed if you plan to use IIS as your Web Server, refer to the Microsoft documentation on installing IIS. You can use any ASP.NET compatible Web Server with this product if you do not want to use IIS , see the section on Apache Web Server on how to set up an alternative.

 

You must have Framework 2.0 installed.

 

If you do not have Framework installed it can be downloaded free of charge from the following link.

Framework 2.0 will co-exist quite happily with previous versions of Framework you may already have installed.

 

Note: If you do not have either IIS or Framework 2.0 installed you should install IIS first.
